Decked Enclosure

This town garden needed a fresh look after years of slow decline. The owners also wanted to enhance their privacy without blocking out the light.

The existing lawn was reduced in size and cut to a teardrop feature. A low stone wall was built around the perimeter of the path, and matching stone planters built into the decking.

The decking itself created a functional space in what had been a sloping driveway. The trellis panels, added for privacy, and will eventually be covered by various climbing plants.

All the borders have now been planted with trees and shrubs. A former rockery was completely overhauled with large rocks and several tonnes of good soil, and all bare areas mulched to keep weeds at bay.
