The rear garden of this newly-built house was a sloping and rather blank canvas.

It does catch a lot of evening sun, so a decked seating area set in a dry-stone alcove became the central feature, using several tonnes of Tarradale sandstone.

REAR GARDEN UPGRADE

This garden had a functional but uninspiring terrace and area of paving. It was mainly covered in gravel with a steep drop at the far end.

SUNKEN CIRCLE

A circular sunken garden has been designed and created for this large open garden, exposed to strong winds from the Moray Firth. In addition to its protective function, the sunken patio is an original and decorative feature.

The neglected area around this pond was cut back and cleared before work started on a redesign of the paved areas.
