Sloping garden

This steep sloping garden in Cradlehall had become unmanageable and neglected. The plan was to reinstate a switchback path, build a decking platform and cover the slopes in low maintenance shrubs.

The path and decking became the focal point, with existing stone used vertically to enhance the look. It seemed a shame to isolate this section of garden, so the fence was removed allowing the slope to merge with the freshy reseeded lawn above.

Over forty shrubs were planted  and will in time fill in the corners and stabilise the slope.
